It was in 1974 that the inception of Broadways took place as a result of broad ideas implemented by the Founder Mr. Jumar Samsudeen.
Initially we handled relatively limited imports of essential goods,but we were indulged more in exports of the countrys's leading sources of foreign exchange(Tea,Rubber and Coconut)
The Open Economy was introduced to Sri Lanka in 1977 where freight forwarding played a major role in import and exports. The Garment industry took the lead in exchange of foreign currency after the Free Trade Policy.
The Actual supply of freight solutions could not meet the actual demand as only a handful of registered companies were in existence during this period. Broadways initiated smart moves, in order to bear the lion's portion of this load,handling imports and exports of more than 150 companies.
